Forgiven Ghost Art Print

I recently created the artwork for The Forgiven Ghost In Me, the new album from Neurosis’ Scott Kelly. This was one of the highest honors I could receive as an artist. Scott is a musical hero of mine and putting images to accompany his aural art has been a humbling experience.

The Forgiven Ghost In Me is an amazing record, you can purchase it here….. neurotrecordings.com

I wanted to share the art in print form but not as a giclee print, this lead to another honored experience, I am excited to be working with Burlesque of North America on a new screen print edition of this art. Burlesque have screenprinted this artwork as a 24 x 18″ 6-color art print and will be publishing it in two different editions.

STANDARD EDITION
100 prints
signed & numbered by Thomas Hooper
6 color print on Cougar white paper

VARIANT EDITION
100 prints
signed & numbered by Thomas Hooper
6 color print (including 2 metallic inks)
on Cougar white paper

We split up both of the editions 80/20.
Burlesque have 80 of the variant prints and 20 of the standard prints.
I have 80 of the standard prints and 20 of the variant prints.
I will be selling my copies of the prints at a later date. Stay tuned to my website for updates.

The variant edition differs by using two different metallic inks. While the images don’t appear drastically different on a computer screen, they are definitely discernable to the eye.

Burlesque will be selling the variant edition print and also sets of both prints, but they are not selling the standard edition print on its own.

Moving Capture

Tattooing By Thomas Hooper

This is a short film intended as an experiment on how to show my work in an alternative form. It is so hard to catch the beauty of a tattoo on a person’s body with out standing right next to them, so I decided to try and make a short piece concentrating on the depth and texture of my work.
This is not a professional attempt by any means, hopefully it is a starting point for me to create something better.
thank you for looking.

I didn’t post much on here the last half of 2012, this was partly due to the popularity of Instagram.
Above is a montage of some of my posts on my @thomashoopertattooing account. I’m making an effort to take my camera to work more this year and document my work in progress to publish here on wordpress. But to follow my work in the format of bad iPhone pictures please go to my Instagram.

Thank you. And have a great day.

Starting off going backwards.

This Tattoo is by no means new, i think it is about 4 years old. An attempt at a representation of a phoenix as if they existed in Haida mythology with my own twist on it…. I love the simple graphic nature of it, with its subtle detail giving it a little bit of depth. I’m going to be posting some of my early work from the beginning of my career and more recent in an effort to take a step back into larger, simpler and stronger forms (but still with headache rendering repetitive overly detailed textures). Thank you.

From beyond into Eternity, 2013 begins.

Happy New Year everyone. I want to first say a sincere thank you to all the people who have supported me through the last year and my whole career. No matter if it is through visiting this website or my instagram, buying a t shirt, book, print, painting, getting tattooed, offering friendship or advice and most importantly thank you to my family, I truly appreciate everything. It is not by luck or chance I am able to do what I can, it is through support and encouragement that I am able to work so hard.

Here are a few bits from last year, finished and in progress. Enjoy.

Good luck in 2013.
