Jason Saga

jason saga
For many years Jason Saga has been and will continue to be one of my favourite tattooers, his gentle spirit and cheeky demeanor always made getting tattooed and working with him a great pleasure.
I have over 40 hours of work from Jason on my back, it is and always will be my favourite tattoo. And I am proud to be among the other thousands of people who also carry Jason’s art on their skin.
My experiences with Jason have taught me to have a strength, patience and courage within life and tattooing, he was always someone I considered a peer and who’s advice I took with the upmost sincerity. Yet as serious as he could be about tattooing, he would always have a smile on his face, he would always be able to make you laugh and he was always the source of light where ever he was.
I hope that he finds peace and that the love everyone has for him the world over gives him strength, like he gave so many of us in our lives with him.
My heart goes out to his family and his wife, he was a true friend and great man, I am proud to have known him and considered him a friend.
Jason’s spirit and art will live forever in our hearts and on our skin.

I still cant believe Jason is no longer with us. It has been really amazing to see how many people have been on here to leave messages and to mark his passing. I want to thank you all for sharing your feelings and memories of him on here, I originally posted some pictures of him, to just honour his memory and my friendship with him.
Jason will live forever in our memories and on our skin.

So it has been a whole ten days since I last updated HoopersElectric i have been working alot, but haven’t been taking to many pictures as I am just about to finish some larger pieces so ill have some new pictures and maybe a new gallery up very soon. I have also been working on the ‘Stay Golden’ benefit project for my colleague Bryan Randolph, its basically a set of flash from over 40 different artists and an exhibition to sell the original paintings from the set. There will be more info on this up here soon, but for now click on this link to see why we are helping Bryan’s son Golden.
Here is a sample from one of the paintings I am doing for the benefit.

For this tattoo I decided to mix a strong graphic cherry blossom branch with some intricate stylized blossoms. I used dot work to create some form on the cherry blossoms.
This piece took 3 hours from start to finish, i am very pleased with how this one came out. Thank you Franny.

Ebenezer

It has been a long process, but today i finally finished Eben’s back, this is a very strange design and a little off beat for me, but both Eben and I wanted to do something special, he is a furniture designer and showed me some very strange wallpaper designs he had done. I took the designs and manipulated them into single patterns and created a mandala style design out of three of his elements, and here is the end result.
